Collective Agreement

It was brought to our attention by some of our members that they may be denied certain rights which are in our negotiated Collective Agreement.  If you are questioning a decision, please read your Collective Agreement to ensure you have the correct information which has been negotiated both Provincially and Locally.

If you’re still unsure after reviewing the Collective Agreement , please contact your shop steward. Please note that no one has the Collective Agreement memorized and we all need to read it when issues arise.

Example:  A member asked his supervisor if he was entitled to overtime and was told “no”.  After contacting CUPE and going through the Collective Agreement with his shop steward, it was determined that he was, in fact, entitled to overtime.
